“Where two or more are gathered in my name, I will be there” Matt. 18:20
Small group ministry is an important model of ministry in our church. Jesus chose twelve disciples and, later, his followers continued to gather together for prayer, growth and fellowship. Small group ministry is integral to the life of our church. Through small groups, we become a warmer, deeper, stronger and broader community of faith.
Augustine’s small group ministry provides both social and learning opportunities where people can get to know each other and support one another, while deepening their faith through creative learning in an accepting, safe, and prayerful environment (CLASP).
Participants explore a variety of topics and interests that are defined by community members. In the past there have been groups dedicated to art creation, music appreciation, church architecture, voluntary simplicity, and cross-cultural images of Jesus.
Some current groups to consider:
Bible Study
Once or twice a year, studies are offered on the bible itself or books related to the bible and faith. Participants quickly become enthusiasts and readily make new friends.
Young Adults Group
All young adults in their 20s, 30s, and beyond are welcome to attend Young Adults Group gatherings, which usually take place Sunday evenings. It’s a safe place to share stories, wonder and ask questions about faith, and pray together. The group also does fun activities and outings. To learn more, visit us on Facebook!
Bunch for Lunch (Seniors Group)
The Bunch for Lunch is a group of seniors who bring a bagged lunch to a monthly presentation on a particular topic, or to engage in discussion. New members are always welcome. Bunch for Lunch meets the first Tuesday of each month.
