Dear Congregants,
On 6 of June, we will be celebrating the 85th anniversary of the United Church of Canada. We will be sharing a “Common Loaf” with congregations across Canada made from flour milled from each of United Church conferences. During this service we will be honouring stories of our denomination as it has weathered the storm time and time again in its stands for social justice. Included in these stands is the acceptance of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and two-spirited peoples, which we will be naming in honour of Pride Sunday. Following the service our congregation will be marching in the Pride Parade with brand new banners! Everyone is welcome to come and march/dance/frolic in the sun as we add to the celebrations. We will be meeting at the Queen (statue of Queen Victoria at the leg) to march with other faith groups immediately following our worship service.
