Palm Sunday Pot-Luck Lunch Thank you
The most frequent adjective overheard describing the many and varied food offerings was “Amazing!” They ranged from exotic to wholesome, with a flavour to satisfy every taste bud. The Congregational Life Team thanks everyone who contributed to the event and the cleanup which will be a tremendous goal to match next year.
Interfaith Prayers for Peace in Our Homes
Everyone is welcome to attend the following interfaith prayer gathering for peace in our homes:

Six Wednesdays with the Psalms
Not all the Psalms of course! But enough to get us into the most human and possibly the most spiritually fruitful, part of the Bible. This study begins on Wednesday, April 14th, through to May 19th from 7:00 to 8:30 pm. Please let Don Ross know of your interest so that an order can be placed for an inexpensive guide – Spirituality of the Psalms by Walter Brueggemann.
Young Adults Group
Young Adults Group will gather on Sunday, April 11th in the kitchen! All young adults in their 20s, 30s, and beyond are most welcome. Call Charissa at 783-0919 or Alison at 284-2250 if you have any questions.
New Website
After lots of hard work from the Communication Group, Augustine’s new website is up and running! Please visit the website www.augustineunitedchurch.org.
Annual Meeting
Augustine United Church Annual Meeting will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010 immediately after the worship service. The Social Justice Team will provide an organic lunch.
House Concert
Loraine and Alison are happy to invite you to a house concert of flute with piano accompaniment on Saturday 17 April and Saturday 24 April at 7:30pm. The concert will be held at 27 Dundurn Pl., and feature works by Bach, Faure, Corigliano and Amirov. A freewill offering will be collected for Augustine United Church. Attendance is limited to 20 people per evening. Please speak to Loraine or Alison if you would like to attend.
Oak Table
Our most recent needs are cookies, fruit and men’s running shoes. Thank you in advance from Alice Szemok at Oak Table Community Ministry.
New Office Administrator
We are pleased to welcome Anna Worobetz as our new Office Administrator. We are grateful for the volunteers who have helped to keep the office running while we were in between Office Administrators: Stefani-Raine Allan, Evelyn Barkman, Charissa Buhler, Glenise D’Arcangelo, Jean Grevstad, Kim Holgate, May Kihn, Jackie Radimer and Marion Sanburn.

Osborne Village Community Clean-Up!

Project Peacemakers
Annual Eco-Friendly fundraising dinner on Wednesday, April 21st at 6:30 pm at the Meadowood United Church, 1111 Dakota Street. There will be a vegetarian buffet, entertainment and a silent auction. Guest speaker is Laura Rance, editor of the Manitoba Co-operator. Tickets are $10 and can be obtained from Bev Ridd or reserved by calling the office at 775-8178. Tickets are not sold at the door.



Augustine would like to thank the Winnipeg Foundation, the Community Places Program of Manitoba and the Sir Thomas Cropo Foundation Inc. for their support toward the replacement of the stained glass windows at the front of our building.
