Habitat for Humanity

Is a registered charity that builds safe and affordable housing for purchase by low income working families. They build homes in Winnipeg every summer. The Social Justice Team volunteered to provide snacks for 225 Habitat for Humanity building volunteers on Monday July 26.  Recommended snacks are baked goods wrapped individually or fruit. If you are interested in helping, please contact Amanda Wolfe at 774 3430 or aerwolfe@hotmail.com.

Thanks to all who already volunteered for the village market, a good number of volunteer slots have been filled.  However, we still need a few more volunteers that are willing to volunteer in the market on August 5^th, 12^th, 19^th, September 2^nd and 9th.  If you are interested in volunteering please let any member of the communications team know call Rick at 257-6148.

Congregational Givings as of May 31, 2010

Our annual budget for 2010 for congregational givings is $109,800.  To reach this total with givings coming in evenly over the year we would need to have received $45,750 by the end of May.  In fact the actual givings at the end of May totalled $47,277.  Thank you for your generosity. If this trend continues it will be very helpful to Augustine’s finances.

Once again Augustine United Church will be participating in the Village Market located across the street at The Gas Station Theatre.  The market runs every Thursday from 4-8 PM that started July 1st and ending Mid September.   We are seeking volunteers who would be willing to work either 4 hour or 2 hour shifts for this event.  Groups within the church may also want to consider taking on a day to support a particular activity, such as a bake sale, letter writing event or an art show.  Please contact Rick at 257-6148 or Kim at 282-8177 if you would like to volunteer.

Canada Day

Augustine will have a table set up for Canada Day, located on the corner of River and Osborne from 10:00am – 6:00pm.  We are looking for volunteers.  If you are able to help out please see Kim. 

As well, we are also having a bake sale during this event.  If you are able to provide baking please put your name on the sign up sheet which is located in the Guild Hall on the bulletin board.  Thank you. 

Dear congregants,

This coming Sunday, June 27, we will be having a congregational BBQ followed by our Annual Meeting Part II to approve our new leadership slate, consider a minor change to the constitution and have a quick overview of our new website.
